IT is composed of four departments which work with the university community to provide the information technology support and services required to realize operational excellence, integrate advanced technology, and create efficient and effective technology solutions. |
Description of Work | The primary purpose of the IT System Administrator I role is to provide system management, troubleshooting, administration and maintenance for all IT related Systems that fall within the Administrative Computing domain including but not limited to the university Learning Management System (LMS). This position is responsible for the successful deployment and use of the university's LMS and is a primary resource for technical support and ongoing change management. This position is responsible for researching and planning for the long-term strategy of the LMS environment in collaboration with the functional department. Secondary purposes include identifying and implementing technological solutions with the goal of improving operation performance and efficiency; and meeting with end users to assess business objectives and define user needs. Additionally, this role will be involved in larger projects, team support & continuous improvement of products & processes. This is a full-time position with the possibility of a remote working arrangement. |

Minimum Training and Experience | A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and 0 to 2 years of experience in enterprise system administration or a closely related area; or an Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Network Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 to 4 years of experience in enterprise system administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation | |
Management Preferences | Experience with Canvas or another Learning Management System. |
