Dean, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer M/F/V/D The Traffic Signal Electronics Technician is responsible for all construction-related duties related to the maintenance and repair of traffic signals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Troubleshooting complex electrical equipment to the Lowest Replacement Item (LRI).
* Performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
* Working on 170 controllers and 330 series traffic controller cabinets.
* Training and supervising mechanics, apprentices, groundmen, and helpers.
* Reading and understanding traffic drawings and configuration packs pertaining to the traffic signal system in Washington, D.C.
* Creating as-built sketches of the traffic signal system.
* Working on 120V energized traffic circuits.
* Determining the appropriate types and sizes of conduits and cables required for a task.
* Understanding contract specifications.
* Operating a jack hammer and compressor properly.
* Driving large vehciles including bucket trucks and pickup trucks and towing equipment such as arrow boards, small trailers and compressors.
Requirements:
* 1-2 years of experience as a Traffic Signal Electronics Technician is required.
* High School degree or GED.
* Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work on M.C. Dean, Inc. projects anywhere in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C.
* Must have a valid driver's license or passport to access job sites.
* Must be committed to excellence and generate a high quality of work.
* Must consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment.
Certifications: The incumbent must obtain the following certifications within one (1) month of hire and maintain the certifications while employed by M.C. Dean, Inc.: * Bucket Truck Operator Certification
* CPR and First Aid Certification
* Confined Space Training Certification
* IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification
* IMSA I Level I Certification
* Flagger Certification
